Be yourself

Hi all,

Some people like to doodle when they have a pen and paper. For me, doodles are very short poems filled with a couple of lines to motivate myself and lift my esteem a little. I suppose it’s from doing so much self hypnosis and the positive thoughts just lie somewhere in my sub conscious. It works for me. I’ve been listening to Joseph Clough a lot of late, which I found out by mistake when looking at hypnosis apps on my phone. He is kind of a life coach I suppose and you can find his stuff on YouTube. I will add a link in a future update. Here is a doodle poem anyway. It’s not a work of art. Just a small motivator for myself which I am passing on to you, which I wrote on an orange post it note. I suppose it does sum me up and my attitude.

Being myself

I don’t care what people think of me,
If they don’t like me let them grieve.
I am the person who you see,
And I wear my heart on the sleeve.

Here’s a nice little passage from Alice in Wonderland which I found on an app on facebook called Word Porn. I recommend it to all writers and anyone who likes literature.

About Nicholas Rogers

I am an English journalist/copywriter living in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and I have been here since 2011. I originally came to work with Casa Alianza, which supports street kids and vulnerable youths. I then stayed on, after meeting Pamela Cruz Lozano, who calls me her adopted Catracho. I work freelance journalism and I have my own translation business. Why did I come here? For the challenge, to open my mind and get out of my comfort zone. I love literature and I've written a book with street kids. I write novels, short stories and poetry, all of which you will find on this blog, as well as a lot of information about Honduras. View all posts by Nicholas Rogers
