Just a month to go ….

Dear all,

The days of bachelorhood are counting down and our lives will merge. Pamela Cruz Lozano and I. I’m winding her up by saying that I expect her to add “de Rogers” at the end of her name. Other times I just ignore her surnames and call her Pamela Rogers. One fell swoop and she has a brummie name.

About a month and a half to go. Still so much to do but so exciting. I’ve taken five minutes just to write this tiny poem.

Just a month to go

Your smile catapults on to my face,

With all the transparent joy it’s laced,

By marriage we’ll soon be embraced,

With our mannequins on the wedding cake placed.

Errands and chores to do,

Seating arrangements and menus to run through.

Hair to cut and colours to imbue,

Catholic marriage classes to attend to.

But all comes in its own time,

From vow-creating to the song the bells chime,

Wedding speeches spiked with tequila and lime,

But we know that the day will be sublime.

So keep that smile upon your face,

Let worries and stresses efface,

A little prayer to God’s grace.

Because our lives are to happily fall into place.

Just a month to go….

About Nicholas Rogers

I am an English journalist/copywriter living in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and I have been here since 2011. I originally came to work with Casa Alianza, which supports street kids and vulnerable youths. I then stayed on, after meeting Pamela Cruz Lozano, who calls me her adopted Catracho. I work freelance journalism and I have my own translation business. Why did I come here? For the challenge, to open my mind and get out of my comfort zone. I love literature and I've written a book with street kids. I write novels, short stories and poetry, all of which you will find on this blog, as well as a lot of information about Honduras. View all posts by Nicholas Rogers
